FAQ, Useful info and the small print!!
Hallmarking
Larger items (above 7.7g of Sterling Silver) must be hallmarked. I am registered with Edinburgh Assay office and my heavier pieces e.g. bangles, chunky hearts are marked. This adds a level of quality assurance to my work….as well as keeping it legal!
This is usually a very small punched mark comprising of five elements.
- My 'Sponsors Mark' is my initials (EC) in a heart shape
- This is then followed by 925 and the Lion Rampant to show these are Sterling Silver
- The Castle signifies it was in Edinburgh Assay Office
- Finally the letter for the year of hallmarking (this picture shows A for 2025).

Sustainability
I try to be as sustainable as possible in all parts of my small business. The nature of working with silver means you have a zero waste policy with the metal anyway, but 100% of the silver I buy is also recycled. This is for the bullion I buy, but also chains and findings (clasps/earring parts etc). Some of my pieces, e.g. my Molten collection, are recycled again from scraps or mistakes and other bits that can't be used elsewhere!
My packaging is all recycled and/or recyclable. The only exception is the gift ribbon, but if you are like me, that will be reused again on another gift!!
I choose not to add my logo to the boxes so they can be repurposed and regifted.
I try to use local Scottish or UK suppliers for the different aspects of my business as much as possible. When this is not possible, I endeavour to support other small businesses and ensure items are ethically produced.

Custom Orders
You may see something you like, but perhaps want to adapt the design a bit or make some changes? Some of my designs can be personalised or customised to make them special for you.
Maybe you have your own design idea and would like to see it made into something you can wear or gift?
Whatever it is, just click the box below and let me know. We can have a chat about it and we can take it from there. I will always be very clear if it is something I don't do and will happily recommend another jeweller to you.

Gift Cards
Gift Cards are available for any amount you choose. Just go to the Gift Card option in the main menu.
Please note these are directly redeemable on this website, not in person in shops or at markets.

Sizing
Necklaces
All necklaces come on an 18 inch chain as standard but you can select another length, there is an option to choose when you order. See the image to the right for how these may look on you. Better still to measure a current necklace which is a length which suits, this will be more accurate.
If you have a request which is out with these options, please get in touch through the link below, I may be able to help.
Bangles
Bangles come is four sizes;
Small (60mm diameter)
Medium (65mm)
Large (70mm)
Extra Large (73mm)
The easiest way to size these is to measure a current bangle which fits (the inside of the bangle, see picture). If you are not sure, just get in touch. It is important to remember that for a solid bangle, it is the size of your HAND that matters, not your wrist!
If you have a request which is out with these standard options, please get in touch through the link below, I may be able to help.
Bracelets
Bracelets come is four sizes;
Small (16cm long)
Medium (18cm)
Large (20mm)
Extra Large (22mm)
The easiest way to have a perfect fit is to measure a current item that fits you best. If not measure your wrist (around the widest part, (including sticking out bones!) and then add approx. 1cm for a snug fit and approx. 2cm for a looser fit or for chunkier styles. If you don't have a tape, maybe using a piece of string/wool and then measure this against a ruler.
If you have a request which is out with these standard options, please get in touch through the link below, I may be able to help.
Cuffs
To measure for the correct size of cuff, take your wrist measurement as in the photo. I will ensure the opening is wide enough to slide tightly across the narrowest part of your wrist bone, and the cuff will sit snugly on your wrist.
Rings
All rings are made to standard UK sizes from F-Z+3. It is much easier if you know this as it is harder to measure accurately at home with fractions of a millimetre between sizes.
I have ring sizers available if you stay locally or if you have a local jeweller, they may be able to help you with a measurement, either measuring a current ring or your finger. Failing this, get in touch and we can make other arrangements

Returns/Refunds
While I am confident you will love your jewellery, there may be a reason why you need to return your item(s).

If you change your mind, in accordance with distance selling laws, you have 14 days to request a refund/exchange with a further 14 days to get the item back to me. You will be liable for postage costs and I recommend tracked or recorded delivery as I am not liable for lost items.

There are some exceptions, namely earrings (for hygiene reasons), custom orders, commissions and personalised items.

If the return is because the jewellery is faulty, I will refund the postage costs along with the cost of the piece. Please note that I will be unable to provide refunds or replacements where damage has been caused by accident, neglect or misuse
You will be refunded in full once it has been returned unworn, in original packaging and in a resalable condition.

Packaging
All jewellery comes in a recycled card box in black or white with a white ribbon.
Inside, the jewellery is presented on a recycled foam insert and wrapped in tissue paper.
Some pieces will come with a 'story card' to say a little bit about the piece or its inspiration. All items come with a polishing cloth and instructions.
If you would like a personal message added if it is a gift, I'm happy to add that too.
Everything used in my packaging (including the padded envelope) is recyclable. The only exception is the ribbon but hopefully you can reuse that too! The box is unbranded so it too can be repurposed.
I have tried to avoid excess packaging but appreciate it has its place in protecting and presenting my jewellery to the wearer.

Jewellery Care
All sterling silver tarnishes eventually but wearing it more often keeps it shiny (my favourite care tip!). If it does become a bit darker or dull, washing in soap and water and a rub with the polishing cloth included in your order and this should restore its shine.
Try to avoid contact with perfumes, lotions and chemicals e.g. household cleaners and chlorine. When not being worn, it is best to store your silver jewellery in an airtight container.
If your jewellery has sea glass, pearls or stones, please take a bit more care as these will not withstand the same wear as silver.
Over time, blemishes and scratches will appear and this is part of your jewellery’s story and to be expected. Please get in touch if you have any concerns or queries, I am more than happy to help.
